This is the view from the Ocean Terrace as sunset approaches. Pretty great, isn't it?

Our pastry chef, Lindsey, outdid herself on the cupcakes at Megan and Michael's wedding. Having cupcakes in lieu of a wedding cake is an idea that's been around for a few years, but this is because it's such a great idea. Who doesn't love a cupcake? And who doesn't love the opportunity to eat several cupcakes in a row when it's so easy to dance off all the calories right then and there? Of all the wedding cupcakes that I've ever had, these were my favorite, by far. First off, they were filled with lemon curd, so there was that delicious surprise in the first bite. But even better, as far as I'm concerned, was the icing. It was meringue, just like on the top of a lemon meringue pie. It was light, fluffy, and Lindsey browned it beautifully. Topped with a thin slice of lemon as decoration, this display was perfect. And the flowers tucked between the cupcakes on alternating tiers was the sweet, finishing touch.

What a great way to top off a wonderful wedding....with a sparkling getaway! This was the grand exit from Megan and Michael's wedding on November 14. A great time was had by all, and a special thanks go the band, Two 3 Ways, who were recently declared by The Knot as "Best Charleston Wedding Band" for 2009.

I recently had a client ask me how close the clubhouse is to the ocean. This photo shows it best. Pretty darn close.

First club house wedding reception

Our first wedding reception in the new club house. This wedding took place on October 17, 2009 and was great fun! Thanks Sandrine and Jared for being so laid back and happy with everything. You made the kickoff wedding a great experience for your guests, as well as my staff.

FINALLY! There are photos to show of our brand spanking new club house. It's absolutely beautiful, and we couldn't be happier about having weddings here. We've had several so far, and I'll post photos. I can't imagine a better spot to get married.

June 20 wedding

This ceremony took place on the Ocean Terrace at 6:30pm, Saturday, June 20. Immediately after the ceremony, the cocktail hour kicked up with drinks and passed hors d'oeuvres right there on the terrace. You can't beat a party at the beach! As the sun was setting, the wedding party and guests made their way across the street to the reception held in our current clubhouse.
